Why do we need the sun?

The Sun provides us with a number of factors for our survival. For one, it helps keep the Earth warm. The oceans would otherwise freeze and our atomosphere would be much thinner.

Plants use the sun to convert sunlight into energy in a process called photosythesis. Plants help maintain a balance of the gasses we like to breathe (oxygen).

The sun also provides us with gravity which keeps us in orbit. In our solar system. Without it, our planet would not have formed.
