I came off the depo in sept 2005 and have since been trying to conceive. I've had acupuncture for the last 2 months but have decided to go see the doctor who said she will do routine hormone blood tests first then take it from there. What are the tests they will do and what will they show?

Thanks Tiffany for your answer. No I am not having periods still after a year stopping depo, although I have had some kind of bleeds when I've had acupuncture but not on my own.

I can tell you just had it done last week, for not ovulating. The doctor will call you in probably 1 1/2 weeks after he/she thought you ovulated. They will take blood from your arm, and if you ovulated your progesterone level will be higher than normal if you dont then it will be lower. The test takes 2 days for it to return to the lab. If you are not ovulating then they will give you something to ovulate such as metformin and or Clomid I am on both and start my first cycle of Clomid on Monday. Are you having normal periods, coming around or after a few days of each other? I went went periods wacked out for almost a year. If you are not having normal periods my first guess would be that you are not ovulating! Best of luck to you!

I am sure the doctor will explain more when you see her next. If not ask her these questions.

Good luck.
