I am a Master and have 3 houseboys who live with me. We have a wonderful relationship, that is both respectful and consenting. There are a lot of misinformed people out there who don't understand that the scene is about more than just kink, it's also about a tenderness between a "boy" (note: Boy within this context refers to an adult who is submissive, NOT a child) and his "dad" or "Master" and "Slave". I would recommend anyone who is curious to read up on the subject, maybe start with the 'leathermen's handbook', available in most gay bookstores or on-line.

The dynamic is considerable and cannot be fully discussed here, but put simply it is a form of Socratic love or teaching between a usually older gay man to a younger gay man which is partly sexual but also a very real teaching and learning experience for the younger. As I said, too much to discuss here, please consult bookstores or better yet, contact any local or on-line BDSM or Leather Groups.

There are many varieties of this. I am not an expert at all as it is not my chosen variation of the lifestyle. However many of my peers are, and of course we are all one community. The Top or Daddy assumes a head of the household type position with the bottom or boy/boi taking the submissive position. Some I know have several submissive boy/boi's in their household that they are responsible for. I've seen boy/boi's who dress the part, the ones in boy scout uniforms are my favorites. And nothing in the world is hotter than a Leather Daddy, male or female. Like everything else in the Leather community, the variation and purpose is multi faceted and there really isn't one exact answer.

I find it most similar to straight couples who call the husband "Daddy" and the wife takes on a submissive role, usually taking on a babyish name and acting like a child.

And before this becomes something the wacko's in this forum jump on, you know every well that there are many straight marriages that take on these roles. The funniest thing I ever heard was years ago when I attended a church service with my grandmother and one of her friends, well into her 80's was nearly jumping up and down with glee cause her "Daddy" was taking her out for ice cream and then they were going to go home and have "a nap". 'Daddy" was her husband of over 50 years.

Whilst some believe that the Daddy/boy lifestyle is about punishment. It's history was more about mentorship. It was a way for a young gay male to be taken in (usually after being kicked out of their home for being gay) and provided for in the home of an older gay male who showed them the ropes. The Daddy/boy relationship was one of mutual benefit not just dominance. While some include the tableau of Dominance and submission, there are others that are merely mentorship. The relationship provides a way for knowledge to be imparted to the younger (boy) by the older (Daddy). However, do not take that to mean age. The boy is guided by service, the Daddy is guided by providing an environment that feeds the boy's needs and provides him the stability to explore their boyhood.

A hierarchical, punish/reward system were the 'boy' services and 'obeys' the daddy figure in exchange for being spanked, fisted, pissed on, physically 'verballed' and pounded (anally). Being humiliated, dominated and controlled is a souce of sexual arousal for the 'boy' and a feeling of 'power' is experienced by the 'daddy'.
