A blackberry has a built in keyboard and is always connected to the internet so emails can be received instantly. You also have a monthly contract with a phone company. A PDA can be connected to the Internet and get email but it is not always on like a Blackberry. A good place to get an idea on options and prices is Amazon

A Blackberry is sort of a PDA; but in modern times it is being categorized as a smartphone; go to a cell phone store and you will find them. The line between a PDA and some other kind of mobile device is drawn traditionally on the fact whether extra programming and software can permanently installed on the device, although it is blurring and harder to tell a PDA from a smartphone.
