depends what tickles your fancy. There's Metallica (I prefer their older stuff pre Load), Megadeth, Slayer - all very heavy metal. Then there's the stadium rock guys - Nickleback, Journey, Def Leppard, Bon Jovi, Motley Crew, AC/DC, Aerosmith and Iron Maiden for example. Then there's prog rock - Spocks Beard, Rush, Yes and such like. There are also a lot of funk/punk/rock bands which have taken their lead from the likes of Suicidal Tendencies, Green Day and other modern contemporaries.
Good luck in your search for something that suits you - I can't list everything here as am at work but my own CD and vinyl collections cover around 400 albums and I'm at work right now and feeling brain dead so not much springing to mind

anything by ac/dc. the scorpions have some great old school
tunes (which are the best in my opinion); i'd say guns & roses,
'welcome to the jungle' is an all time great & nirvana has some
awesome rock songs; teenage wasteland (can't think of the singer at moment tho.)from the csi new york theme song is a classic.

When i think of good rock I think of metallica,any song,and System of a down,I love toxicity aerials and chop suey,I also think of guns and roses I'm kinda into they're power ballads,and of course nirvana(lithium and smells like teen spirit are special songs for me)
