Books or stories from them are always better than the film adaptation,as you get their thoughts and their more descriptive.
I think The Green Mile was one of the best adaptations very close to the book.

Pet Sematary is my favourite Stephen King book, and also one of my favourite books ever. I read The Shining first. I don't think it's one of his best but it was still good enough to get me hooked. I then read Salem's Lot which was an awesome book. It took a while longer to get into it than his others but then you're hooked and can't put it down! 'It' and The Stand are very long but they are very good books. They keep you hooked from start to finish even though they're so long. I've never seen the film Langoliers so i wouldn't know, but most film adaptations of Stephen King's books aren't too great (with a few exceptions e.g the Shawshank Redemption and The Shining).

Anyone can tell that no one tried in this movie. The makers made the langoliers so fake and the acting was really bad. I think the acting on soaps is better then this. Stephen king doesn't know how to make a solid scary movie.
my grade: 3/10 *
it sucked!

Like most King TV adaptations, "The Langoliers" was suspenseful, mysterious, and weird up until the last hour. At that point, the ending brought all that build-up crashing down. "Storm of the Century", "The Stand", and "It" also suffered from the same anti-climactic syndrome.
Of course, that's just my personal opinion.

A bit melodramatic. Why do they do that to Stephen King Stories, which are very believable though based on fantasy/horror - they take every ounce of realism out of it, eg The Last Stand. It seems that the only ones that are any good are the ones where the film-makers take their own unique view on the story, eg, The Shining, The Dead Zone and Carrie. They haven't made a decent film of a Stephen King since then.

I know what you mean!! It started out being a bit creepy, then got really bizarre. The most annoying thing was though, I sat through 6 hours of it, only for sky plus to cut off the end, so I don't know how it ended!!
