Everytime I start Windows Media Player it pops up my PDA which adds itself to my msconfig startup. This also happens when I start msn, yahoo, or icq messenger!

Aight... I don't know bout pdas.. but the options should be the same for the programs that are starting up... go to the preferences in those programs and find the option that sais something like load on start up and un check it. all them progs you showed have them i did them like that before...

Unhook it in the Registry, but. as allways when on a Microsoft or any OS, make a backup before doing any changes to the System.
You can prolly just use mscfig utility to do it, but I am still uncertain on the XP and Restore stuff. Conflicts can arise fast when an Image is taken and then Microsoft decides that they do not like green eggs and ham. Love em hate em, they are the biggest game in town, they make sure Apple and Linux stays active so they wont be back in front of a Senate Panel.

Use startup cop it helps with those issues, the old versio is free.
The new one cost like 8 bucks, on pc mag.
I use it when i wanna manage my startup programs, its easy to use too.

I don't think there's a way to stop it automatically.
