What should you do to your pet dog when it gets too old and frail? It's not dangerous, just frail. It's not sick either just weak and a bit hard to move around.

Should you put it to sleep? Perhaps send it to the local dog house (they will probably put it to sleep anyway) or let it loose somewhere in the jungle?

It has been a faithful and good dog.

Some of you really need reading lessons.

I am asking your opinion on what I should do to the dog. I need your advise.

Please stop accusing me.

Sometimes letting it be till it dies naturally may not be the best idea. The poor thing must jus be suffering like crazy and wanting release.

Isn't it more inhuman to let it suffer?

i'll see the condition...if he has been suffering for his condition...i'll think for putting him to sleep...but of course, we are in no right in judging who is to die and who to live...but if the dog is really suffering from that condition...i wont be able to see him suffer...

If the dog is not suffering ,love it give it back some loyalty,You would seriously turn a week old dog lose to suffer hunger cold and heartbreak just because it's old?what did you do with Grandma?
The only reason to put a dog to sleep is to end pain and suffering,Living with such an *** whole might be painful.

If it's a faithful and good dog why do you have to get rid of him just because he's old and frail? He needs you more now than ever.

Unless the animal gets a terminal desease, why put him to sleep? Let him or her live out it's life, and care for the dog like you care.

as a vet . don't turn it loose or dump it . that is cold and heartless . if you were in the dog's place . would you want someone you had been loyal to for all those years to abandon you . think about it man ....... this animal has been there for you all these years and this is the thanks you are giving him in return. if he's old and frail what would you want your master to do to you ????

How about keeping your loyal pet until it is time for him to pass away? Would you dispose of family the same way, because a pet is part of a family

Your suggestions were kinda harsh though as if you didn't care. I'd rather take care of her/him till it's last breath. I mean, it has a life and with that kind of good and faithful dog...it deserves better treatment even if it's already dying.

That is quite a reward for being "a faithful and good dog"....

Keep the dog with your family and make it as comfortable as possible...love it and feed it and be as faithful and good to the dog as he has been to you
