It is messed up.. 1. to tell you it's a fat girl name is insensitive 2. that's his opinion and if he wanted an opinion he should have been there the last 13 yrs of your life. 3. He should call you whatever you tell him to call you. If you prefer Victoria (which is a beautiful name) he needs to respect that.

I don't think that is is wrong I mean Melissa is your name as well. Victoria is a beautiful elegant name. The only thing that he should not have said to you is that Victoria is a fat persons name. (Look at Posh Spice) I don't think that is it messed up at all. My partners goes by his middle name. I would to if mine wasn't Ella! LOL.

well honestly, dont you think its a little too late to start nickpicking at the name - i think its messed up too. Victoria is a beautiful name; when i think of the name victoria a picture a classy woman - i dont know what you're dad is talking about.

You're Dad's trippin on something else besides your name. See, he probably picked Melissa and your Mom picked Victoria....so he's jealous his didn't come first....

Sounds like your Dad has issues with your Mother, to me.
Yes, it does sound a bit messed up that your Dad said you had a "fat girl name", but parents are just human beings, and human beings say some pretty messed up things sometimes. It's just depressing to realise that your parents are ordinary people after all.

Victoria is a BEAUTIFUL name!!!!!!! If he thinks it's a "fat girls name"...has he looked at Victoria's Secret models??? Even Victoria herself is not fat. Sounds like your dad has issues
