this question was asked before and i read somewhere that it was because the artist, tried to make him as cute as possible while trying to make the cartoon simple to draw, so the easiest solution was to get rid of the tail

This is my unprofessional response. I believe it is in the psychology of a child to notice the basic shapes and actions. By excluding the tail, the authors hope to make Curious George cute, baby-like, and a bit human. This makes the child, I believe, create a connection. But I'm not a professional, so then again... Either that or Curious George is a monkey species that don't have tails. They exist, you know. Or maybe the artist just forgot to draw it. I never noticed that he didn't have a tail though. Then again, I don't watch it very much.

the man in the yellow hat chopped it off and cooked it with beans and ate it thats why george is scared to leave
