I know how you feel. I was a senior 10 years ago but it's been the same for many years. One of the things I have realized now that I am older and living a good life is, none of that mattered. I wasn't part of a group and I had friends but I usually surrounded myself with people I liked and didn't take part in the group things. The only things that you can get from high school that carry throughout your life are the knowledge you acquire and your true friends (and true friends in high school are rare). All of the things being considered to be part of a group or clique doesn't matter in the real world. Just use high school in the way it was intended, to learn. You will either go off to college and begin partying the way it should be done or go into the work force and again party the way it should be done. You will be 28 someday and look back at the way you are feeling right now and be amused by it. It's not the end of the world but the end of an era leading into a better one.

Dont worry...HS is a joke and you'll realize (after HS) that it really didnt mean much who you knew or who you hung out with. I mean in HS i was what would be considered popular, lol its all about convenience, after HS i moved on went away to college, come back after just 1 yr and it was like a whole new world. Now ALL those friends I had in HS are guys that I hardly speak to. I keep up with about 3-4 ppl from HS and thats really it, although when i was there it seemed as if i knew everyone and had all kinds of friends. Just be urself and realize that HS is supposed to be a fun time of ur life, but even if it isnt HS is NEVER permanent, and if it become permanent something is wrong. You'll move on and go somewhere else or get a new group of friends and you'll look back on those same ppl and you wont even care....

lol that sounded like me. well, since this has happend to me already, like, a year ago, my best advice would to be urslef. YET, start hanging out with people that have ur same interest. for me, there were different groups of kids, for different interests. What i found easy was to make friends from each of those groups that you like, then, eventually u will REALLY connect with atleast one of them. That's what worked for me last year. I'm now in my junior year, and, things have been great with my new friends!
GOODLUCK!

keep being you, fitting in with this group or that, may seem very important at the moment, but will seem very unimportant soon.
High school years are tough that way. Be your self and you will find many people will not only accept you, but respect you for not having to only fit in with one particular crowd.
