Periods are only for women. You will never get them. It is something that happens once every 28 days and lasts for about 5 days. They need to happen for women to be able to have babies.

A woman has something inside them called ovaries. Once a month, an egg will be released and stored in the womb (where a baby would grow). After about a week, if the egg has not been fertilised (made into a baby by the woman having intercourse with a man) then the lining of the womb comes away to get rid of the wasted egg. This is when the woman bleeds for a few days. She is having her period.

I hope I have helped you understand a little.

A period is a hormonal cycle that takes 28 days to complete.
The uterus lining thickens up with blood in readiness for conception. If conception doen not happen then the blood is expelled from the body and this is called a period. It usually lasts for about a week.
Men do have a hormonal cycle too but it is a lot less traumatic. The male body produces new sperm every twenty minutes. That is it for men. No swellings or mood swings.

Don't worry about periods son.........worry about the week before the period. Thats the time when normal women go crazy and do and say things that make you wonder if their human. If a woman is acting crazy and she's less than 55 years old, she's going to get her period.

Aditya,

Male persons do not get periods, ever. If you are a male and have bleeding "down there" you need to tell an adult you trust immediately. You need to see a Doctor as soon as possible.

I think you are old enough to understand female anatomy. Its symbolic of female reproductive system. Nature prepares adult female uterus for egg and sperm from mae to unite and make new life. if it does not happen this preperation sheds out in shape of periods.
Men never have these.
