In my lifetime, I have tried many things that interest me, and so far, all I've succeeded in is the job I do for a lviing.
I lost money in the stock market, but kept right with it, so I have made gains as well.
I bought and raced a racehorse. He won three races but never did pay for himself.
I've painted over 100 oil paintings. Only was paid for three of them.
I was downsized out of a job I held for almost twenty years.
In sum, my life has been mostly failures and yet I believe I learned something from them, and don't consider myself a failure.
Would anyone want to keep trying in the hope of hitting it right and becoming very successful?
Or, are you just afraid to take a risk because the competiton is too tough?

long as the risk isn't soo big that it destroys my life and affect those around me negatively.I'm a calculating risk taker...if there is a good chance of something great from the risk, i'll take it.

I try my best but don't invest all of my emotions in whatever I'm doing - that way if it does go wrong I'm not crushed. I can then look at it objectively & think "well this worked but that didn't" & move on from there. Beats trying to stay put with one thing that just isn't working for you, by trying other things you'll never know what you have a talent for. Doesn't mean you should stop doing the things you enjoy - even if you're not world class at them, because they're what feed your soul.

I've failed quite a few times - but still managed to enjoy the process of trying. I've also not met quite a few objectives, but ended up redirecting the effort into something else that worked. But I can say, that I have never, ever failed at anything that I was absolutely determined to achieve. Basically, if you want something badly enough, you do whatever is necessary in order to achieve it. Success is not about luck - not in my experience. It's about bloody-minded determination and persistence. If at first you don't succeed, change your strategy! Congratulations, by the way, on your attitude.

No, we should not be afraid of failure. Failure is a demon, satan like pastor ronald l.k. chia from Singapore. He's the only one who don't pay or cheated me for my services. As a pastor, he cheated me of SGD168 to create a 3 pages website for him to make money.
As for me, life have to go on. I will not stop my web design services just because of a pastor who was created to cheat. I have to live my life.
Don't give up your painting business, pal. Tell your self that you can make it. At least you sold 3. Remember how you feel when you sold your 1st. That's it!
I suggest you create a blog at blogger.com because your blog will get index faster. Post some of you paintings in your blog together with your business address and contacts. People will call you. You can mail me if you need a sponsor for your website.
To all your success!

Hi,
You have to be happy with yourself first. Then the rest will fall in place. Maybe your goals and expectation are higher than you can reach and you feel you are not a success, when you should make smaller goals and meet them. Life coaches or mentors are good at this sort of thing. Try one.

Before I try I get all determined and confident, sometimes even dream of my success.
When nearing the 'fail' i say I beleive I can.
When I Fail I cry till all the cries seems meaningless and i know it wont help
After I fail I wipe my tears and stand up again.
Its not the falling that matters, its when you stand up again that really counts

Not at all. I learn something every time I fail. And I win enough times to make taking the risks worthwhile.

AFRAID ? NO... hate... yes.. I hate to fail but the failures in my life have taught me valueable lessons. I simply turned the feeling around by saying the failure is simply my education tuition.
aaaaaaaah life is good !
