I know this has been harped on a million times, but if you're not going to support the war, don't support me. Or any of the other troops who have joined since Sept 11. We all signed up knowing that we were coming over here somewhere to fight this war.

There is a liberal named Joel Stein who will honestly admit that he does not support the troops. I respect him more than any person who will stand out there with a picket sign and call Bush a liar and a murderer, but turn around and send me a box of candy and soap.

And the people who anger me the most are the soldiers who risk their lives for something they don't believe in! Shame on you!

I can't believe I'm doing this, but please read my MySpace blog about this. Not enough space here to write it.

It also includes the article by Joel Stein called "Warriors and Wussies."

I'm not a liberal, I am not speaking for the entire military but I know there are many many soldiers who agree with me. I am not a spoiled brat and I am not in the rear with the gear. You can make all the accusations you want about what I do and what I see. Soldiers who don't believe in this war joined the military for all of the wrong reasons.

Supporting me but not the war is like a vegan supporting a butcher. He's doing his job right? He likes his job, he chose his job.

I agree, since 85% of them are Democrat or Independent. The Republican chickenhawks forgot to show up for the war they caused again. Go figure though...huh!!!

US Servicemen that fought in Operation Iraqi Freedom and afterwards have a well EARNED right to disagree with that conflict{it can only be called a war if it was declared by the US Congress}

If you love war then have everyone that agrees with you and STAY in IRAQ and don't come back until "Mission Accomplished."

Nation building takes time and not everyone want to be Amercanized so you will die of old age before any changes. It took the US over 100 years before women, you too, were allowed to vote and almost 200 years before women were allowed credit cards and don't forget about the glass ceiling.

If the US military had the courage of not fighting illegal conflicts and immoral wars, their act would split this country apart. US Servicemen swore to defend the US Constitution against foreign and domestic enemies. So far they have have domestic enemies: Democrats,Republicans and affluent corporations and individuals.

The main mission of the military is to train to destroy and kill so with this in mind they are not for peace.

People forget that the Department of Defense was once called the WAR DEPARTMENT.

Keeping the peace are for ambassadors and negotiators.

I come from a family that have served in all branches of the military,so they were ready to defend my 1st Amendment rights of free expression. If you disagree or do a thumbs down it will be your decision to do so,especially if you are a non-veteran.

I will have a friend of mine write you.

Americans have a right to disagree even with me. Live with it.

First, I'd like to thank you for your service, if that's O.K.

The instant rise in enlistment following 9/11 made me proud of
the youth of America, something I thought I'd never say again.
IMHO, Pres. Bush's call to arms against the Taliban and
Al Qaeda in Afghanistan was necessary and proper.

Again, IMHO, Bush's decision to invade Iraq always seemed to be motivated by something other than legitimate concern for national security. The complicated situation in Iraq before the
invasion warranted more thought before action was taken.
A clear exit strategy would also have been helpful.

At this point, no thinking person can deny that we were all lied
to by the current administration. There were some WMD found
in Iraq, but not anything like the proportions that we were told.

Personally, I find it a little dis-heartening that you reject our love for you,and our wishes for your safe return.

I did not support the decision to invade Iraq, and I DO support all those that serve in the military. If it's your preference, then I'll support everybody BUT you.

I've spoken to people that were serving before and have joined up since the invasion, and most of them think Bush screwed up. I need to point out to you that one can disagree with the decision to invade, yet can still support our efforts to help rebuild Iraq and its' budding democracy.

I'm getting real irritated with this whole outlandish, ignorant point of view, so let me be clear............DON'T tell me that just because I didn't support the decision to invade Iraq that I CAN'T or DON'T support the troops.

Oh, and another thing............notice that I never said that I don't support helping the Iraqis build a democracy. I fully support what we're doing NOW THAT WE'RE ALREADY THERE. Because it would be even worse to cut and run after screwing up in the first place.

Basically, when I or the millions of others like me state their opposition to the invasion of Iraq, yet voice their support for our troops, you don't have the capability to see the clear, logical distinction between the two statements, and therefor have to launch an ad hominem attack because of your inability to grasp the difference.

Fine, have it your way, I won't support you a lick. That's just a bit more support I can give to all the rest of the troops that are busting their humps.

I admire Joel Stein and I read the Los Angeles Times every day. If you support this then quit complaining. People will complain about everything. Your fellow servicemen have the right of not agreeing with you,so why are you complaining. Do what you enjoy and stop sniveling.

You make Beetle Bailey look like an Einstein.

Derka, Derka, Jihad, Muhammad Ali.

You'll agree with the following

America

F*CK YEAH !!!

I'm not a Liberal or Conservative, I'm the guy who votes for the most "Reasonable" person.

The Iraq War was a mistake, period, GWB's Father was 10 times the man GWB is and he knew better, to bad GWB didn't Inherit his Father's brains. When 8 out of 10 people I talk to, on a daily basis, tell me we should get out of Iraq (in an orderly fashion) and our Government (apparently made up of people like you, who say "Screw Everyone else I'm going to do what "I" want") say's we don't care, then Democracy has gone down the drain, hope you're proud my friend. Even the most Conservative people I know have this view, so let's not just point at Liberals ;-)

I feel bad for you. I do support you, but not the war. It's ridiculous. We are not fighting to save our country or our freedom. This is a strong country and no one is going to push us over. There's nothing to fear as far as I'm concerned. It 's pitiful that so many troops are losing their lives over a useless battle. I'm sorry but it's the way I feel. Good luck to you and for what you believe in and are standing up for. Not to insult you as you are very brave for doing it, but I wouldn't want anyone there that I know and I don't thank God. I get upset hearing about people I don't know and thats enough for me.....

I can't believe anyone would support civilian cities being bombed and a wedding oh my god a wedding. wouldn't that just make your day getting married then having your wedding bombed and half your family if not most of them killed. To support such a thing is insanity bred from ignorance, which in your case started from your brainwashing through drill. peoples minds can be pretty malleable when the right psychogical techniques and most likely drugs in your case are applied. have you ever question your leaders since you joined? have you ever had anything real to say against your government since you joined? I guess you must love every aspect of your life being controlled since you don't have to think as much.

I know you won't like this, but i support the troops and not the war. I can't support a war that has no justification. And even though many did sign up to be there, many other don't want to be. Either way you look at it, our troops are forced there.
Oh..we are fighting the war to disarm Saddam because he has weapons of mass destruction.. Oops.. no weapons.. i mean.. we are fighting the war to liberate the people in Iraq.
But i agree with you, if i was in the middle of some BS excuse of a war, i would come up with the same lame attempts to justify my being there. It's easier to delude yourself then face reality.

I support the troops, They are there at there countries behest
they are doing a "JOB" that their country sent them to do- this is honorable to put your life on the line for your country.
I do not support the administation that sent them there, lies and chicanery were used to make people beleive that this was the thing to do.
For most soldiers, it is a job- for those that just like the killing, get help!

I support our troops, I also council returning vets, I am a vet. I think we made a big mistake in invading Iraq and not Saudi Arabia, and we should of sent the troops in mass into Afghanastan and Pakastan to caputre and defeat Al Quieda. One of my 3 sons is a Iraqi and Afghan vet, 2 of my sons in law are also in the military and have done tours over there. I very much suport the troops but am in disagreement with Bush's policies enforced with our children in harms way. Saty safe and come back alive to all those over there, you are all in my dialy thoughts and prayers
