Erm... its ok, little different to 6, you have a tabs feature which makes live a bit easier, cos you can have 6 pages open in 1 explorer window (so none of that compressing on your start bar)
Slight critique is that somethings are a little small (back buttons) but all in all not bad...
I do not like the idea of the PHISHING (check sp.) option it gives you, I dont like the idea of someone recording my internet activity (not that i visit any illegal sites on anything) to me that filter just implies that Microsoft will sell the information to 3rd parties so targeted advertising can be made.

Yes. It is. It has got many features when compared to the previous version. The existing one is just a Beta version. The original version will soon be released. From first week of November, Microsoft is going to make IE 7 a critical update. Everyone who are using genuine Windows XP needs to update to version 7. Trust me. This is going to happen in one week. It has got some of the advanced features like:
1.Tabbed browsing
2.Browser reset option.
3. Zoom in controls (To zoom pictures without loosing the quality)
4. Print views
5. Parental controls
6. Better look
7. Phishing filter (Online phishing (pronounced like the word fishing) is a way to trick computer users into revealing personal or financial information through an e-mail message or website. Phishing Filter is a feature that helps detect phishing websites. it blocks such suspected websites. You can turn off and turn on manually.)
8. Inbuilt pop up blocker as in IE 6
9. RSS Feed. (Orange color button on the toolbar which enables you to feed the updated contents of the websites. If you have any personal website, you can store the up to date contents here.)
Even firefox will not work properly if the Internet Explorer is not installed on the computer. I suggest you to use IE 7 and get used with it.
Another main feature is that it has got a protective mode. If you encounter any problem in browsing after using any third party software, you can easily troubleshoot it.
Click on start> All programs > Accessories> System Tools> Internet Explorer 7 without add ons.
Try it and explore more...

I downloaded it and after rebooting my laptop it said I appeared to have an illegal copy of windows. Verified Windows on the microsoft site (as it was the version supplied by Acer) and all seemed OK. The next time I switched on the laptop it again said I apppeared to have an illegal copy. This happened 3 times before I restored back to the previous version of Internet Explorer.

Personally I'm a firefox user myself, but have really encouraged ppl to install IE7 even if you don't use it, as it stands as a major system-wide security patch.
Look, in all honesty, you will find it takes you a little while to get used to if you have only used IE6..the tabbed-browsing will be new to you. But keep in mind (and this is what many are forgetting) is that just like any other tabbed browser, you always have the option to keep opening pages/links in a new window if that is what you prefer.

Not so good. I downloaded it and removed it, but it screwed up 6 in the process so am stuck with it now. had to redownload it. Basicly it's the same as 6 but as usual, the toolbars dominate the screen, preety soon it will be a 1" window, you can't put all the controlls on one bar at the top of the screen,, the tabs are useless. stay with 6 or you might be stuck with 7. C.

I tried the BETA edition and did'nt find it that good, but it depends what you want from your explorer, i don't see the difference from one edition to another, this coming from an 'average joe' internet user. As they say 'if aint broke, don't fix it', if theres nothing wrong with how things are running on your computer, leave well alone

I downloaded it on on to my parents compy just for completeness and security really. It's a bit MSN-like in appearance and usability but seemed a bit tardy in getting pages up quickly. The addition of tabs and tab thumbnails is ok.I'll keep my parents of firefox for now.
The download is 15 Mb and requires a windows genuine advantage validation too.

you can try it with caution it has been known to make some systems unstable and it requires microsofts windows verification tool snoopers charter did you know it reports back to microsoft everytime you boot up also what else does it report ie7 wants to block anti virus vendors accessing hidden files stating that the inbuilt security is safe enough just what are the scared of can ther be a tracker within the files thats monitoring your every move and they dont want the anti virus or anti spyware to locate.

It Sucks. You cannot really customize it the way you like it. It has all these "possibilities" but i would wait a few months. I downloaded last week and got rid of it few days later. If you really like tabs on your browser try firefox 2 instead

I installed it and straight away my computer starting playing up. The screen went black, so i had to use the mouse to brush over icons & stuff to clear it away, then my toolbars started jumping and shaking. I uninstalled it and everythings back to normal...
