In Greek it's Herakles. It means "having the glory of Hera." Hera was Zeus' wife + kleos =glory/fame.

Here is something to remember is that Hercules did not start out as and Greek demi-god. The Greeks took an Egyptian god after they has defeated the Egyptian in battle and then re-named him Hercules......................................... And that Ladies & Gentleman is a historical fact............

the word ''Hercules'' in greek means Ηρακλής(Iraklis).he was son of Zeus(on of them) and he was half god and half human.But metaphorically it means very strong.
