But it's true.... "The Clown At Midnight" is a known horrific image....

For me it was when I found out that John Wayne Gacy, one of the worst serial killers who murdered many young boys used to dress like a clown and volunteer at children's hospitals.
Besides, they are really greasy and scary.

Because of all those scary ways that society twists it up, like the movie IT. Also you know when you hear the sound of a little kid singing "ring around the rosie" at night it's creepy! I dunno why really that's just what I think. It's also kinda wierd that somebody would wear white/red makeup all over their faces and a big red nose and wierd hair, it's just not normal ya know? I suppose they're annoying too, probably the same reason people don't like magicians...I guess they're just all overrated now....

I wonder the same thing all the time. My best friend is scared of clowns and he cries whenever he sees them. Its really sad.

I hate them because whenever I see one, I am reminded of John Wayne Gacey, Jr., the serial killer, who did all sorts of benefits and kids parties, playing a clown.

For me it just doesn't help when they keep putting them in horror movies(shudders). I remember one where the clown has razor sharp teeth and was in the sewer watching kids playing and luring them to their death. They are just scary as heck.

They are unnatural looking. It's the same reason people would have to run into the Frankenstein monster. You just don't see something like that every day, and it looks vaguely threatening.

i think it all started from that movie "clowns" like 12-13 yrs ago. i think that's what the movie was called...
