Most women have an easier time with the second child. I am jealous of your first--my only child took 13 1/2 hours with induced labor. Four hours of hard labor. They refused to give me an epidural.

Sometimes the 2nd child is easier. My first son was really difficult, they induced me with my second son. The dr. didn't think I was going to have him for several more hours, he had to rush back in and got there just in time to catch. After the epidural, it only took about 20 minutes for my second son to be born. My 3rd child was the same, the doctor got there just in time to catch. So good luck!!!!

my 1st labour was hell !!!
my second i didn't realize i was in labour till i got to the hospital to be checked all i had was a really bad backache which you kinda get use to when you are heavily pregnant ( i was a week over due ) when they checked me i was 9Cm's and baby was born bout 50Min's later.
3rd took ages but the pain was more manageable,
4th again by the time midwife came i was almost 6Cm's and baby came bout 2hrs later so YES id say the next baby should be easier for you i ended up having planned home births for my last 2 and this baby I'm having now is a planned home birth and trust me I'm the biggest wimp going when it comes to pain there is now way id have home births if it was anything like my 1st
every women is different but for me they do get easier
good luck x x x x

The second child is often easier.
There are variables. Size of the baby. Presentation, Size of baby head.
You being letting the contrations work without fighting them.
Also the size of the babys shoulders.
My second child came quicker. And no time for the epidural. And I was glad to push him out feeling it. afterall once past the transition phase, it is easy from there on.
Good luck with your precious little one

My doctors told me that you can expect every labor to be cut in half from the first labor....that was true of my second, but not my third. Your body does seem to know what to do better, and you know what to expect which helps you be more calm and relaxed, which obviously makes the whole process run more smoothly.

I don't have any stories, but I have heard that the subsequent births tend to be easier. Maybe one of the reasons is that the birth canal is widened from the first child's birth. Good luck.
