Is this the UNITED STATES it was 6 years ago?. Believe me, this reminds me Saddam Hussein posters and statues EVERY WHERE, just like any other dictator likes to display his pictures to show the people he is in charge. NOW THESE DAYS, it is HAPPENING HERE, IN THE GOOD OLD USA. People display more Bush photos more than any other presidents in the PAST. Every government office, local, state, including some schools, private companies displays it. I am not against that, but DOESN'T THIS LOOK LIKE another third world dicatator. REMEMBER, THE FLAG comes first, and we should display the FLAG more than the president. WHY IS THIS HAPPENING?. Or, do they fear to be categorized unpatriotic if they don't?.

I had the same concern when I arrived in the States for a recent trip (I am British) and was greeted by an oversized photo of Bush in the arrivals hall. Disgusting (and scary)!

Well blackman, at least the British guy here agrees with you. Maybe you should pack your bags and join Rowan on his way back to Europe. Are joking or what? Don't tell me, you have never been to a country run by a dictator have you? I would bet you have never left your home town. You probably drink Starbucks everyday and drive your gas guzzling SUV around town, complaining about how the big brother doesn't do enough for you. Grow up! A dictator demands that his picture be painted on every wall. That his statue be put up in every town square and his picture displayed in every office. You can either do it or they have special cells where acid drips from the ceiling to remind you of the error in your ways. I know, gas is 3 bucks and you think you have it so bad here. The next time you see the presidents picture you better kiss it and thank God for all of the freedoms you enjoy in this great country. Then ask the person who put the picture up why they did it. You'll probably get the best lesson in national pride you'll ever get in your life.

It is not uncommon for the current sitting president to have his pictures displayed in many homes, businessesm, schools, libraries, government buildings. Displaying Bush is no different than any other president who was displayed in the past, just as the next president will be showcased as well. As the Flag is a symbol or our countries past, so in it is the symbollic and heralded office of the president. The president is another symbol of our identity as a nation. There is nothing wrong with granting the president the dignity and respect they deserve as the holder of the highest office, regardless of your political affiliation or whether you agree with his politics or not

isnt it great that people in America have a choice to put up a picture of George W. Bush on their wall, instead of in Iraq or North Korea where the dictators put them up themselves.
