Yes, everyone deserves to know the truth. If you don't confess the sin then it will come back to you in an unpleasant way. I find life is much easier to deal with if I tell the truth at all cost. That way I don't have to wonder which story I told to which person.

It is a matter of individual reasoning for each of us. Your values are your own, not ours. If you are compelled to confess, then fine for you and live with the fallout. However, may it be an even worse betrayal to not only have made the mistake, but then make the husband pay and suffer as well? This is an individual choice of comfort, values and belief, which we all decide is right for us. Let's not judge her, as if I were her husband, I'd really just rather not know and remain happy. Let it be. What is wrong us? Maybe a little weed will help you mellow, relax and enjoy?

If the husband thought he had a happy marriage and didn't have any idea the wife had cheated, and the wife was remorseful and wouldn't ever do it again, and truly loved her husband, what purpose would it serve to tell the husband? It would only serve to hurt him and destroy his world, just for the sake of the wife "getting it off her chest."

I don't think telling the truth would help in this case, only hurt. And that is what should be avoided. That sort of truth should NEVER be told. If my husband was cheating, I'd want to know. If he had cheated, felt bad about it, and never intended to do it again, I wouldn't ever want to know.

It's true the truth hurts but that's part of the consequences of your actions. You have to take responsibility. You know the consequence when you did it . you decided to do it now have the balls to tell the truth.cheating breaks hearts but lies drive them crazy trying to find the truth, and when they find out later, you have made a fool out of them for trusting you.And once you cheat the staying together, forgiving, divorcing is all out of your hands You can make someone feel so disgusted with them self for touching you when you might have cooties. You have no right to cheat and bring home someones germs without confessing and let them decide if they find you repulsive now.

The only person served by her telling is her own conscience... the husband would be devastated. I came to this conclusion because there was no intercourse. NO good can come from her telling if she is truly remorseful. Her cross to bear.
