Not only has torture become acceptable as well as the right to seize any citizen for any reason without representation (under the Patriot Act) but also our right to protest our government - which is not only our right, but our responsability as active citizens. We have lost our freedom of speech, our freedom of choice. In fact, we have become citizens in a country where we only hear what the government wants us to hear on the media. It is sad, and so many people not only don't see it, but actively deny it. I can only hope that change is coming and people will wake up.

As a conservative, your right, I do place a high value on moral values and my freedoms. If we captured a terrorist who knew where bombs were planted in your neighborhood that were going to go off in a few hours, would you authorize torture to find out where they were? Or is that just not being nice to the bad guys? Its debatable whether or not torture keeps us all more secure, but what is not debatable is committing adultery in the white house with your intern. Please someone attempt to show me how that is moral behavior and how that sends a good message to the average american husband. Nice one Clinton. That clown did more to tear down the moral fabric of this country than any president ever did. But he did speak well so I guess its okay.
Its insane how blinded you have all become to the real issues facing our country today. After all of Clintons moral failings is all you can point to is torture? Is that how Bush is failing us morally, because he wants to put a little pain on mass murderers to help us catch the rest of them? We are not talking about beating the terrorists with sticks and cutting them with knives, do your research. We simply want information out of these guys and we barely want to hurt them to get it. Please explain to me how Bush has made you "lose your freedom and right to legal representation"? The answer is no, your freedoms have not declined. Stop listening to the mainstream media and your liberal friends at dinner parties. Try cracking a book and reading up on current events. Maybe you will learn to appreciate this great country that we have just a little more.

No it isn't but then we aren't talking about US citizens. We are talking about terrorists.
I am concerned about the lack of morality as evidenced by the Bush administration, however. For someone who talks christian values, he doesn't practice what he preaches.
I consider the war again Iraq to be unjust. The terrorists didn't come from that country and Iraq had no weapons of mass destruction. I believe that he deliberately misled us. We had plenty enough to do in Afghanistan in finding Osama & his gang of thugs. If we had to move into another country militarily, it should have been Syria who is a main supplier of money and arms for the terrorists/Taliban.
Although we are dealing with terrorists, I believe also that Bush should follow the Geneva Convention. His actions have resulted in an increase of hatred and violence toward the US & our allies. I hold him morally responsible for the deaths on both sides of the conflict in Iran.
It's interesting to me that he talks morality and christianity when the bible forbids instigating unjust wars.

Check out: Patriot Act and the newly signed Military Commissions legislation. In combination with the Real ID Act. Freedom is definitely eroding. The government has nothing to do with moral values, or at least shouldn't. The USA has always been hypocritical when it comes to torture, chem/bio/nuke weapons. etc. Whatever we admit to doing or openly allow, we are surely doing ten times worse in secret. Nothing to do with the current administration.

I doubt that morals have declined in any respect, or greater. Older generations think of that ethical have declined by way of fact they use an rigid common that became utilized to them by a era older than they're. How people show themselves isn't a ethical subject. How we handle one yet another is.

You, as an American citizen, haven't lost a single freedom listed in the Constitution or Bill of Rights. If so, name one.
