Pay attention to roles. You can start, if you're a serious person, by pretending to be serious-- which will make the sarcasm even better for those unexpecting. You have to know how to lie to deliver a joke. Moreover, you have to bea able to be cruel-- and walk the line between actual cruelty and cruelty for the sake of humor. We're a desensitized hoarde, the best jokes really come from the gallows. Stereotypes and everday **** is bread and butter-- and when someone's fallen down, you kick them repeatedly. Rinse, repeat, watch comedy central and be merry.

Simply put you can't ,a sense of humour is something you are born with, trying to learn a sense of humour would be as easy as trying to teach a tone deaf person to sing in tune

Sense of humour comes from a bit of lateral thinking, a bit of carefree attitude and a lot of timing. It is possible to cultivate with some deliberate practice.
Otherwise, keep visiting the Jokes section here. Or, is that right, isn't this philosophy section the right place?

This is a good WEB site to access in learning about the intricate aspects of humor: http://aath.org/articles/art_sultanoff01.html
Firstly, avoid cynical and hurtful humor that makes fun at others and their differences. Instead, focus on humor directed at yourself, the incongruities of life, things in juxtaposition and pure wit.
There is nothing wrong with making fun of an ethnic group so long as you are part of that group, like Jack Benny for years made fun and jokes about how utterly cheap he was; well, he was Jewish, and that's why he was so funny because the joke was directed at himself and his own ethnic group.
Rude humor is distasteful and may offend others, i.e. using "four-letter-words" to gain a laugh out of "shock-value". Any seasoned humorist or comedian will tell you that this kind of cheap humor is a "cop-out" because it does not require any remote form of genius, wit or brilliant intelligence. Instead, it's a sign of a complete lack of creativity.
Develop your observation skills, noting things of incongruity and putting opposite things together that create an unexpected yet surprising result. For instance, a secretary informs her bald boss over the intercom, "Mr. Smith the "Big Wigs' are here!" And he responds into his intercom, "Send them right in!" This paints a visual picture of the company Big Shots coming to see Mr. Smith, an expectation is instantly formed in your head. But when the door flings wide open a delivery man enters to deliver to Mr. Smith the "Big Wigs" that he ordered for his bald head, creating a incongruent result that delightfully surprises us and we laugh.
It's this type of incongruity or "twist" that is at the core of humor where the humorist sets up an expectation and then delivers the incongruent and clever surprise twist. Stand up comics have used this technique for years where one (the straight man) activates the "set-up", and the other (funny man) delivers the incongruent "punch-line".

Take time to review each pre-judged situation from a different point of view, searching for funny aspect, or visualising a 're-make' of it, in the comical version, for practice.

The funniest people I've known were the ones who could laugh at themselves. It seems that we are all just people with weaknesses of our own.
