Everyone is taught in school that our first president was George Washington. Not true! America (not the United States of America) had three presidents before Georgie-baby. Washington was the first president of the USA.

John Hanson. George Washington was actually somewhere between the 9th and the 14th President, depending on how you look at history.

Here are the first 5
George Washinton
John Adams
Thomas Jefferson
James Maddison
James Monroe

I'm not sure who was the first person to hold that title, but in the case of the United States, most people would agree on George Washigton, though some historians believe otherwsise.
