Our work schedule is from Sunday thru Saturday so, technically, it's only a 40 hour week.

I'll work this Wednesday thru next Thurs, but our work week starts on Sunday, so, on paper, that's only 40 hours for next week.

The law states that the time worked can not be more than 40 hours in a standard work week, so unless you are working over 40 hours in one standard work week, your employer is not required to pay overtime.

You may want to weigh out whether it's worth it to you to have your hours spread over seven days a week though. I wouldn't stay sane for long without weekends away from my job!
