If you are not an adult you cannot make adult decisions correctly and therefore need the guidance of those who love you.

As long as I have the choice to breath clean air and not harmful second hand smoke, as well as not have to see cigarette butts littered all over the place. I really don't care if someone personally decides to smoke on their own time at their own home. But I think the reason why people give you hard time is that they are tired of having to endure harmful second hand smoke in public places, they see all the littering, and how a bad habit gives someone the right to have frequent work brakes while they have to continue working. All of this added to the fact everyone knows that it's not a beneficial habit to begin with I think just gets people a little annoyed and makes them want to open their mouths and say something. However, they usually don't know how addicting it can be so they don't realize that you can't just stop once you've started. Just remember that it is your choice to smoke and not anyone else's, so make sure that your decision is only effecting you and not those around you as well (no matter what the duration or location may be). If you follow that and people still have a problem with your smoking then that's their problem.

I am a heavy smoker of 30 years and I will tell you why. It is because tobacco is a dangerous, addictive, deadly drug. It might as well be crack because it is just as addictive and even more deadly.
I started when I was 12, not a mature decision. I thought that I would NEVER get addicted. Now it is 30 years later.
I had to tell my mother that even if I quit, it will take 20 years before I even start to see a drop in my lung cancer risk.
Most of all, I hate our politicians who take bribes from the tobacco company. I hate the tobacco company who is still up to their dirty tricks.
If you are not addicted to cigarettes. Quit. Now. You will regret the decision to smoke as the sorriest decision of your life.
I am smoking a cigarette as I write this. I am not a hypocrite, I am an ADDICT.

I agree, I am so tired of people telling me it's not good to smoke. I learned all about it in health class, I am a smoker and I don't care to hear other people telling me how "wrong" I am. But like I told others when they tried to tell me that I shouldn't smoke, "If I'm not concerned about my health from smoking, why should you be?" I come from a family of smokers, Everybody in my family smokes, except my mother and my children. I don't try to get my mom to smoke and she doesn't try to tell me to quit. (my kids are only 11 and 12). Many of my aunts and uncles as well as my cousins died from one form of cancer or another, so I know all the health risks, I have made an informed decision to keep smoking, and WILL NOT quit for you or anyone else.

Your decision to smoke looks about as informed as your attempts at spelling. I'm not sure if it "dose" matter- when you have to breathe someone elses smoke, and get lung cancer that will shorten your life and they won't be around to pay for the medical treatment, then it's their business. Let me guess-European?

Smoking has apparently effected your spelling ability but besides that if smokers lit up at home and breathed their own poison and not forced other people to breathe it there wouldn't be a problem and all smokers could kill their lungs without ridicule but smokers don't do that. They will selfishly light up whenever and where ever they want and not show any consideration for anyone around them. People are speaking up for their right not to get cancer and die.

Don't smoke in front of people and they won't say anything...but if you're stinking up the air around non-smokers then you get what you get.
