Native lead does occur in nature, but it is rare. Currently lead is usually found in ore with zinc, silver and copper, and is extracted together with these metals. In mining, the ore is extracted by drilling or blasting and then is crushed and ground. The main lead mineral is galena, which contains 86.6% lead. Other common varieties are cerussite and anglesite . But more than half of the lead used currently comes from recycling.
Lead has been used by humans for at least 7000 years. Leads have many uses as follows:
>Lead is used as a coloring element in ceramic glazes, notably in the colors red and yellow.
>Lead is used as projectiles for firearms and fishing sinkers.
>Lead is used in some candles to treat the wick to ensure a longer, more even burn.
>Lead is used as shielding from radiation.
>Lead glass is composed of 12-28% lead.
>Lead is the traditional base metal of organ pipes, mixed with varying amounts of tin to control the tone of the pipe.
>Lead is used as electrodes in the process of electrolysis.
>Lead is used in solder for electronics.
>Lead is used in high voltage power cables as sheathing material to prevent water diffusion into insulation.
>Lead is used for the ballast keel of sailboats.
>Lead is added to brass to reduce machine tool wear.
>Lead sheets are used as roofing material.
>Lead is frequently used in scuba diving weight belts.
>It is also used in weights used in angling.

I have not been successful in using a membership site for leads. You are getting these ad because it's a numbers game to them and eventually they think you will join. If you need leads just Google or yahoo leads and you will get many companies that you can get leads from that you do not need to join any membership. You can also research what you specific lead needs are and then research the company through the better business bureau.

Lead (Pb on the Periodic Table of Elements) is a very dense, but soft malleable metal. It is no longer used for may of the things it used to be, such as plumbing pipes and paint, because if has been shown to contain toxins.) Trivia: plumbers have that name because pipes used to be made from Plumbum!
Nowadays is it used primarily as protective sheathing in x-ray rooms, bullets, and weights.

I think the most common uses are for bullets, weights, and fishing line sinkers.
Not sure where it can be found... I guess you could probably find it in a hardware store.
