welcome, like you sit there alone feeling like a cast away, I am friendly and smile and try to talk but why do people act like that?

Ask them general questions. They probably feel that you're not interested in them. If they don't answer your questions, then talk to somebody else. There are some douche bags in this world.

Did you go to my family reunion? My relatives are so wonderful to call just before the reunions. Every year after leaving I say that I will not attend the next year but I do.
Nobody talks to me. I went to talk to my sister and stood by her, she looked at me and asked if I were leaving. Heck, I had only been there a half hour. They do not cluster near me, they are in their own group and there I stand alone. I play with the grandchildren in the family.
What do you do? Keep looking for a person of the opposite sex who looks single and available. Maybe it will happen and maybe not. Never go to these places with somebody or you will get abandoned. That is not fun.

Depends on who the new people are!
If your boyfriend took you home and you got the cold shoulder, it could mean that they don't approve of you!
If he took you to a meeting or group, keep in mind that they aren't obligated to make any new guest feel welcome!
Ask a few questions try small talk.
If you get negative response from your questions, you may not be welcome!
Your boyfriend didn't do you any favors by bringing you and should take you away as soon as possible!

It alway's happens.It,s like your first boy girl dance everyone sits around afraid to ask for the dance then 1 hour left to party and one person makes the daring move that sets the party off,but by now two of your three hours are wasted away being scared to make the first move.That's what I believe happend to you nobody wanted to make the first move,and by doing so they alienated you making you feel uncomfortable and unwanted,and I,m sure it wasn't personal because they could've very well asked you ,or the person who brought you to leave.

Depends on the situation, there are allot of factors that could cause this, Don't let it bother you for some reason they were distant with out knowing the full details its hard to tell...
Don't let it bother you it's their loss they had a chance to met a really nice person and didn't feel sorry for them and attack life don't dwell on the rudeness of others.

remember high school? you know the nerds hung out with nerds, jocks with jocks, all the popular people had their own little clicks. everybody had their own little cirlcle of friends and outsiders were not welcome. this trend continues on after high school. most people surround themselves with like minded people and are wary of letting anyone new into their groups. I know how you feel, it is like being the new kid at shcool, and everyone is staring at you because you don't dress like them or talk like them, you get the picture. i am not saying it is right but people still do it, I find myself doing it sometimes, but if I catch myself doing it I introduce myself to the new people, and try to make them feel welcome.

a lot of times they think they're better than you.i went to a party once and it was nothing but yuppies and they didn't talk to me at all,as a matter of fact i overheard one of saying "I bet he didn't even pay close to 100.00 for them shoes he has on"so,i did the only thing i could.i called up every freak i knew to help me crash the party!

Find your own crowd. If your are a friendly person, it shoudn't be hard to find your own set of friends.
