I find this rather intersting. More women then men cheat, but for some reason all men are scumb bags and cheaters. But what about the girls? I have many lady friends and even they agree they have cheated. Come on they agree all their friends even cheat. But if their boyfriend cheats, the whole world knows and falls apart. So why is it that people only mention men cheating and not women? (I have a girlfriend over a year and no i have never not once cheated on her and i bet there are guys who have been married for 20-50 years even but never cheatec but for all girls all men are cheaters. NEver understood this.

=this could be an ongoing battle between the sexes so let me just say this to end it all. DON'T CHEAT! Plain and simple. Get out of the relationship if you are not happy and move on. Just remember that you have to love yourself first before you can love another. A guilty conscience is a heavy weight to carry around.

The reason that you've never understood this is because you don't understand a lot of things- 100% proven by who? What journal article did you read? Even if you put all your own experiences together, that would not be a representative sample. You BET guys who have been married didn't cheat- that's your 100% proof?
And who do you think these women are cheating with? MEN!

I think you bring up a really good point. Another thing is that biologically men are hurt more when a woman cheats than is a woman when a man cheats. This is because one of the biggest innate fears in a man is the uncertainty of if his child is really his child. Men kill because of this fear and that is why murder is the number one cause of death for pregnant females. Crazy right?
Anyway... I think that maybe a lot of the blame goes to men because men usually treat women like crap while in the relationship... whereas, women are generally more passive and get treated like crap for years and then get cheated on. Similarly, it's easier to sympathize with a woman who is being neglected, ignored, and treated like crap who then goes out and cheats on her neglectful husband than to sympathize with the guy who treats his wife like scum just to go and cheat on her and make it worse. I don't know really, I am just making a generalization, but it's a theory to answer your question.

It's because men cheat just for fun - women cheat because they are mistreated by men and are looking for compassion from somebody else!
In most cases when women cheat (except ones that just can't live with one man) there are feelings involved and if they fall in love they are ready to break up with one they live with.
In men case - they want to have both!
So think about it this way - it always hurts more when you understand that your "love" has cheated you just to have fun, it still hurts when he/she cheats you because he/she has feelings for somebody else but in this case you will at least try to understand him/her because you know yourself what love is.
I'm not saying that this makes everything right, but that's the way I feel about this problem.

I'm not sure if that is really correct about more women cheat but I do agree with you that just as many women cheat as men.

Sounds like you have your facts mixed up!! More men cheat than women- but the women that do cheat- are less in number but have more affairs-w more men- D

women tend to cheat when they are having problems in their relationship.. feeling unloved... ect ect.. men tend to cheat out of lust... (shes hot i'm gonna do her) alot of women cheat to level the playing field (men do it so can i .. i am tough i dont care about mundane things such as love.. you cant hurt me)

i sure don't believe that more women cheat, all men cheat, trust me, I use to think that guys were actually inoccent, but I have learned the hard way ALL GUY'S CHEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
