Yes Miami is very happening that time of year. As long as you have your accommodation planned well in advance, you'll have a great time.
There are oodles of clubs to choose from. Look on-line and get some ideas before you go.

Miami of course. South Beach is sooo hot. Great place for New Years. Key West is very laid back. Lots of bars but not as exciting. Miami will have it all. Have fun.
