What kind of education would you need besides a political science major? And who could you talk to about becoming one? I don't believe you can just apply to be a political strategist. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

You don't need an education, you just have to be a good liar. Okay, just kidding. Here's wht you do. Apply to the Air Force Academy and while there, major in Political Science and minor in History. Okay, after that, earn a commission into the Air Force and serve about 4-5 years. Nobody wants a political strategist that didn't serve in the military, just as no one wants a prez that didn't serve. You'll look like a loser if you don't. Okay, after military service, apply for a position in Capital Hill, rub elbows with the big wigs, and go from there. Good luck. Make us proud.

Seriously psychology, philosophy, religion, history, economy, science, militia, advertising, marketing, human behavior, or just be rich and have a rich friend running for president.

Like I said, go into marketing, maybe minor in psych.

yeah, political science degree is a good start.
economics, statistics and law are good degrees or classes to have under your belt too.
model u.n. is a great place to learn too.
a gov't job in the appropriate area can expose you to on hand exprience and people in the field.
