Yes, better get that roof fixed. It'll cost you a lot more in the long run and it must be putting a strain on any freindships with your neighbours.

You need to capture those slates as soon as possible! Domesticated slates should NEVER be released into the wild. Damaging cars is just one of the many problems caused by abandoned slates.

If they arent captured soon, someone could end up DEAD!

If you mean roof slates then you have to cough up and hand over the cash and get your roof sorted or if you rent then get the landlord to pay the neighbour and get him to sort the roof.
If you mean you are slightly loopy and you are not aware you are doing it then you can claim mental insanity but I do not think that will work either, so put your short arms into those long pockets and hand over the dosh!

You freely admit to "having a few slates loose" - is it that you can't remember damaging your neighbours cars? How are they damaged?

I'd see a psychiatrist if I were you.

Failing that, get a roofer in.

are you responsible for the damage to your neighbours cars? YES.
are you responsible generally? I would hazard a guess NO.
Get some help either a roofer or a shrink.

Clearly, if your insurance company has / not advised you on your responsibilities regarding this matter, or if you have chosen to ignore them, then yes, 'you very much have a few slates lose.'

Sash.
