Yeah, but this is the "Kitty Dukakis" question in reverse.

Remember? Mike Dukakis was asked about the death penalty. I'm paraphrasing, but one of the news people - it may have been Dan Rather, but I'm not sure - asked something like, "if Kitty Dukakis was raped and killed, wouldn't you support the death penalty?"

And it's not a fair question.

Of course, if the people you love are affected, you're going to feel (and possibly act) differently. But the whole point is, the people in charge aren't supposed to be emotionally involved with the decision. That's why we put them in charge, I think.

Look, there are lots of arguments, on both sides, about wars on the opposite side of the globe, and whether or not we should put our finest in harm's way in them. But appealing to emotion shortcuts the argument.

In other words: win this one in the Senate, not on the Jerry Springer show.

As Osama bin Laden puts it: "In this final phase of the ongoing struggle, the world of the infidels was divided between two superpowers--the United States and the Soviet Union. Now we have defeated and destroyed the more difficult and the more dangerous of the two. DEALING WITH THE PAMPERED AND EFFEMINATE AMERICANS WILL BE EASY."
Osama needs people like you!

I think if he really believed we were doing the right thing, Jenna and Barbara would be out there on the front lines, like so many of our young people. Think about what a great president everyone would think he is.

YES. It's obvious by your question that you just simply do not understand what is going on here.

I htink he mourns all our casualities. He would still think that this is a war we have to fight.

He knows that he will never have to worry about it...so I don't think that it has ever crossed his tiny mind.
