It's harder to scare people now a days. They don't scare as easily as they did years ago so they turn to gore. Gore makes people squirm, therefore, their purpose is achieved.

people love blood and don't even know it. i actually heard one of my friends say that she can't stand stuff like this but it's like she has to see it. In this series of movies with a somewhat serial killer it's kind of hard not to have blood and gore. And it puts butts in the seats and money in their pockets my dear

They want pepole to be freaked out with out that . It's not a scary movie and they want to sell the movie and get money.

because it's supposed to make the audiences' stomach turn when they watch it. they did quite a good job too!
