A couple of ideas:
First, I believe that abortion for convenience is wrong.
That said, I don't believe that my personal views should be the rule for everyone else. I'm not them, and I can't possibly expect to understand their motives.
Theocratic rule making is against the principles that this country was founded upon, and holding non-Christians to Christian standards is wrong.
Then, comes the definition of life. At the moment of conception, some define the cell produced as human life. If this is the case, then the cells descended from that one are human life as well. That said, what of the placenta? The umbellical cord? How do we know which cells will become what? It's my opinion that there is a time when these cells are proto-human. Life, but not yet human. Too, a great percentage of fertilized eggs spontaneously abort.
In any event, I'm not trying to convince those that belive abortion is wrong that they should change their mind, only that they should consider that others have differing views, and that imposing their morals on others isn't justified.

Before I had kids I was against abortion because it was murdering a person.
BUT I had my first pregnancy, and with it came complications. There was a chance that my son could have been born paralysed from the neck down, and live a life of pain. Is abortion wrong in this scenario? We asked if there were further tests that could be done, and even though there were risks associated with them, we needed more answers. With those answers we took the 50% chance that he would have problems and continued the pregnancy, because all the results were positive, but not definate. He was born a happy healthy child who needed major surgery at 6 months old, and was fine.
So now when I am asked this question, I say that if someone is terminating a pregnancy because they don't want a child then that is wrong, that child has a soul, and that child has the right to a live, it never asked to be conceived. Not only that, but continuing the pregnancy and putting the child up for adoption is giving the child a right to live, and those people who can't have children the chance to experience being a parent.
If the decision is based on health reasons, then no one person has the right to judge. I am not saying that special needs people don't have a right to live, they do. what we had to consider, was that he would never have moved from the neck down, and his life would have be a very painful one given the condition he had.

I am not sure how intelligent my thoughts on abortion are but here is what I think.
First and most importantly I believe a woman has the right to make a choice.
Second, I will always hope her choice will be to give life to the jewel she holds within her womb.
I know all about the extenuating circumstances that may surround a conception.
But I believe life is very precious. Our planet may be the only one in the entire Universe where giving life can happen at all.
I am both thankful and grateful I do not have to make such a choice regarding this question.
Bottom line is this. A woman has the right to choose! And noone, absolutely noone has the right to challenge, condemn or harm a woman for the choice she makes.
I would only say this one last thing. Making the choice to abort a life is the hardest thing any human being can ever do regardless of gender.

Do you define intelligent view with hoping answers reflect your own opinions or some ability to give facts? Having an abortion because of an unwanted pregnancy is not an intelligent view. That is a cop out. If an abortion is because of result of incest or rape, that is more understandable. One simple fact, an abortion is a termination of a life. I believe life is important & should be lived to the fullest. There are many studies that anti abortion folks try to hide & alter facts. I think the same is also true of the facts seldom found by those on the other side of the fence. Another fact I believe has enourmouse amount of weight is the question about it being right or wrong. If we question it being wrong & do it anyway, well, that in itself is wrong. If you want more intelligent answers, may be you should define your question a little more clearly/

Intelligent ?
Yes , of course...
Maybe not the same as yours however if ours is not the same, it
is your view that is lacking, not mine...
As a general view, I am opposed to abortion...
There are genuine conditions & circumstances that justify abortion..
It is the womans ultimate choice / decision as to abortion whether or not anyone else, including myself, feels that conditions or circumstances justify her abortion....

it should only be done if both the parents agree on it. No one else, i mean it is a life no matter how big or small, and again you dont want to change 2 other lives for the worst. It also depends on how setteled you are in life.

Abortion doesn't make the baby suffer so it isn't really too much a concern for me, although it is murder because you kill another human being
