Because they want to kiss somebody. Often somebody specific who also happens to be playing the game. And it's kinda cuter and more fun if you kiss becasue that's what the game demanded.

to kiss the guy they like of course. i remember playing that when i was young and we always cheated. when we didn't have a bottle we would use the phone, it was sooo funny. our drunken teenage days. lol
