true story: was 15 when I went back east to live with my dad, first day at the new school had an episode that made me laugh so hard was rolling on the ground, literally. At that point was 5' 4", at 180 lbs, and hel*l my screwed up luck, 6 months pregnant (got caught the first time, no denying it), anyway, was walking to class when this other girl, who was larger than me look at the one cheerleader who was at max, oh about 130 lbs, told her she was, get this "Too fat to be a cheerleader and she should get real or go on a diet" and unfortunately me and my big mouth, laughing all the way to the floor looked at this other chubby girl and asked "have you looked in a mirror lately?"- needless to say, did not go well, but had everyone around us laughing. Was later asked by the cheerleader why did I say that because she did think she was too fat. Honest answer, because it isn't your weight that makes you who you are it's your attitude and personality, found out later (several years later), that she had left a note planning to commit suicide that night and had written another letter after that incident, her sister mailed them both to me when she was killed in a drunk driving accident last year. All that matters is that YOU are happy with how you look and feel. My main response to people when they get really derogatory to me is just to respond, he*l*l I'm fat, sassy and happy, go piss on someone Else's parade!

Everyone likes to think they are liked by others. When someone is rude enough to say something like that it really does hurt. Just remember you know the truth...if you are overweight then you probably should lose some weight because of your health and self image. But do it for yourself...not for some person who doesn't care about other peoples feelings. If you don't need to lose weight, then consider the source and know there are a lot of people who don't care what they say. But...don't let someone that rude ruin your day, they aren't worth it.

Well hun I could eat an entire pack of cookies so I'd never say anything to you, well expect "want one" lol But on a serious note we can eat cookies but still need to be healthy(and you can do both) But it it sounds like shes kind of a cruel spirited person with "ugly" insides. So next time she appraoches you with soemthing like that tell her something like this..I may be heavy but I can loose the weight, but you'll always be ugly!!

Omg... I hate people. I don't care what people think unless it's someone's opinion that really matters, but most people that talk like that to you, probably don't matter. Think about it, is she going to determine the job you get? The man you marry? She's a nobody and if someone is so low to say stupid things, they'll always be low and you should know you're better than that. It's hard to not take things personal sometimes, and I have a soft heart, but you have to look at the big picture.

Why care what someone else thinks. There's just as much chance of the girl being mean/jealous as there is of her saying it as friendly advice. But, at the same time, you have to be honest with yourself. If you really are 'getting on the heavy side' you don't have a whole lot of ground to stand on. It wouldn't be like what she said was untruthful, just tactless.

She was being rude and catty most likely because she's jealous, I'll bet you are prettier and have a better figure than SHE does, and if you are a bit overweight, who cares? It's a lot better than "dying" to be thin stick people who think they are better than everyone else. Hold your head high and ignore people like that. They aren't worth your time sweetie.

depends on who it is, now if my brother or father was that rude and said that, it would hurt like heck. But if some random person, who probably knows nothing about me did, it wouldn't bother me. Because, when ppl say mean things to others, it is because they have insecurities of their own. So just know that they are no better than you. Good luck hun.

i usually don't care but lately everyone has been telling me that i am getting "a little thick" (putting on weight) but "it looks good on you." so now i find myself watching what i eat and doing excerises. so i guess to some extent i do. but i still think i am fine and that's the only opinion that really matters!

i'll be a hypocrite if i say that i don't, but it has to come from my family or my solid mates cos i know that they care. apart from them, i don't really give a rats @rse. other people can say whatever they want. i'm pretty much confident of who i am or what i look like...and those people who keep on blabbing baloney stuff are self-conceited and insecure.
