I reside in the Northwest. I have two lantana plants in big pots, which I brought into my house for the next six months. They flowered beautifully, turned to green seed, & some to black seed. The branches (stems?) are dry, & leaves are falling off. However, new life is growing now. I keep them watered & give them nutrition. What I want to know is what will happen to the dryer parts of the plants. Will they become fresh again& look pretty? Thank you for any knowledge.

I have some smaller variegated lantana that I have been bringing in for a couple of years. Their leaves are fast to shrivel if you do miss a watering, and quite a few leaves will drop. I also had problems with spider mites which caused leaves to drop as well.I give them as much sun as possible when in the house. Plants in general will attempt to adjust to the amount of light they receive by dropping leaves with less light. I would keep on top of your watering, probably would not recommend any fertilizer until spring. I usually prune them back some in early spring and any branches that dont show new growth I remove.I would remove the seeds so they dont make a mess in the house.I really dont think they make a nice houseplant, but if you keep them alive through the winter they should be beautiful again next summer. Good luck

Keep pinching the top of the growing tips of the plant - all round the bush as you do this, the bush forces out new growth lower on the stems. It shouldn't take long to thicken up. Also snip off any old seed/flower heads.
If you are not using the seed, dispose of carefully as lantana is toxic to cattle. Newer varieties are actually sterile so don't self- seed. Good luck!

Next spring you see were new growth starts. At that time you can cut out the dead parts of the plant. Right now just be patient and wait and see. When you cut a little of the dryer part off and the stem is inside green then most likely this stem will regrow again.
