Not all people who are native to America are considered Native Americans. There are Alaska Natives who are sometimes but not always grouped with Native Americans from the Lower 48. There are also a very few Native Hawaiians who don't have Asian or European ancestors. The vast majority of original Americans are Natve Americans though.

I have never heard anyone refer to themselves as 100%
American and that includes what few Indians I know. If used at all then I would think that it would be a figure of speech. There are "red-blooded" Americans, but that has a different meaning. So what I am saying is there is no 100% anything.

I was born here, my parents were, too and so were my grandparents, and I believe my great-grandparents. Does that make me 100% American??

But my Mom always said that we were a Heinz 57. That we had every race in us but Mexican and Black, and she wasn't sure about the Black part or the Mexican part.

Only if you are a member of the Sioux, Arrapaho, Hopi, Apache, Nez Perce, etc.

These are the only TRUE Americans -- the rest are of European, Asian, or African descent.
