You can purchase white noise and pink noise generators at most pro audio specialty stores, as it's a common tool for acoustic measurement.

But if you're looking for something more versatile for different variations, I'd suggest a synthesizer with a noise generator. The filtering and modulation capabilities will allow you to create a lot more effects than simply the "wash of white noise" that the test equipment will.

Look for an analog synth with a noise source (like the old Moog Micromoog) or a virtual analog synth like the Korg Radias.
