I know how to check history, cookies, etc., but I believe my nephew is getting online with out my permission.
He is not underage, so I am not worried about what he views; it is a matter of respect.
If he were to delete history, etc., is there a way to check if he is using my laptop?
Thanks for any advice.

yeah check out the recent history of your files and stuff instead of internet history it still saves things in there from the internet or anything that was used it creates shortcuts for so empty that then check back in once a day or something.!

I do not know if you can really find out if somebody is using your machine, without installing a key trapper.

There are software called key trapper which will save everything typed in your computer to a file. You could install one of those and see if somebody is using your computer.

Why don't you put a login password in your BIOS (you access bios during restart by pressing DEL, F8 etc.)?

The answer is yes. However, if deleted, data recovery can cost you.

Best answer might be to let it go and make your computer Administrator controlled, name yourself as Administrator and your Nephew as Guest.

In an administered computer Guest's can not delete files or change settings. So you can view thier history and there is nothing they can do to prevent you.
