Depending on what you have, do this in Tools | System Commands | Save All option, followed by Restart. Or it could be the Tools | System | Reboot option.

The default userid and PW is admin for both. Also try a blank userid and admin as the pw and vice versa.

Assuming that you changed the default password to something you chose and then forgot it there is no way to save the config because you need to be able to log into the router first.

If you never changed the default password you can go the the dlink website, search for the router model you have and download the user manual which indicates the default password.

there is always a way to write it down or they have it in the ip options to save it.
