jaded: Yes; it has happened to me ! I spent 3 and a half years with this beautiful, blue-eyed, blond girl friend of mine, planning on marrying her in a couple of years ... and one day the bottom fell right out of the whole thing !!! I was hurt for years after. At first, I withdrew from all my friends and family. Spent most of my time crying and wallowing in self-pity. It hurt - BIG time !!! Very seldom do high school romances move forward and stay intact . That is why I try to discourage girls or guys in school from getting involved romantically. My heart goes out to you, jaded - it hurts, I know it does. Take time and heal ... all the best to you !!!

I fell in love once, but no can't say I know she wasn't the one I was supposed to be with for the rest of my days. I still believe she is and always will, guess that happpens when its true love.

I know of a feeling that makes people think that they need to be by a certain someone always, and that they wil never get over them, and tha it causes them so much pain in the brutal unfairness that they cannot be by their side now and in the future all that time. That feeling fades no matter what. Some people control it better then others and with time and experiance.

A few years ago I wrote a story. Part of it goes like this:
"One person is your perfect match - just one. I believe that somewhere out there nearby, a person has been placed on this earth for you and you for them. This is our gift from God; the opportunity to love fully. Regardless of your looks, your weight, your IQ, your color, or any other possible difference, there is one person for you. Your perfect partner is there at some point in your life. This person will compliment you, strengthen you, and will stand by you in everything you do. They will accept you as you are but help you to become a better person. You, in turn will strengthen their weaknesses and cleanse their spirit. This one person will share your life and your soul and share theirs with you. The one catch is that you must recognize the one for you. In order to do that, you must honestly know yourself and seize the opportunity when it arrives."
So many of us miss that opportunity... But there are a few that know that person, and more importantly, know themselves - and do seize that moment.

Nope. But know the one I'm with now is the one and despite issues (as he is also involved with Blue Moon who also answered this same question) - I know he and I will be together.

Yes.....but that isn't a true love. A true love is when both people feel the love.
