I know there was a big controversy about the details of this book (I have not yet finished reading it). I've heard Catholics being really upset about what is saidin the book. While I am Catholic, I don't know a whole lot about my own religion. So what about the book has everyone so upset? Please nobody try to convert me. Just answers to my question please.

I believe everyone was upset because the book says that Jesus married and had a baby.

There is too much to say in one short answer. I was fully edified by this collection of links (because I hadn't read the the book and I wanted to know what it's all about).

None of these resources are Catholic (some Orthodox, some Protestant), but the issues are beyond denominational difference. (This why the webmaster posted Protestant links in the first place.)

One of the most controversial claims in the book is that Jesus Christ was married to Mary Magdalene, and that she was a great influence in his life and his work. That she was one of the figures depicted in the DA VINCI painting "The Last Supper".The book claimed they had a child together, and that the family tree of Jesus Christ has been traced through the centuries up to his descendants of today. The catholic church denies all of this! They believe he was never married, and that Mary Magdalene was a street whore who he helped through redemption! She was just a follower. The book also tied MaryM. to the holy-grail.Remember, the book is essentially fiction.

dis book states tat jesus married mary magdalene n had a kid wit her..
i suggest u read the book purely to enjoy it, keeping religion aside as it can spoil the fun. the book is very well written, a superb thriller, n all this fuss being made over it is just ennecessary.. those who wanna believ, can do so, n others can choose not2believ it.. its really a matter of opinion rite? ppl cant force thier opinion on others! so just go ahead n read this book, ul love it!
cheerio!

Well I dont want to ruin the end for you...but lets just say that the end of the book basically states that your Lord and Savior is just a regular man with a family.

The book asserts that Jesus married and had a kid, when in fact, He never did. The book is fiction and based on a conspiracy theory that originated in France back in the 50s.
