This is a tricky dilema, that needs extra imput!
Your cousin's ex is real slime and needs to be punished !
Why didnt she have him prosecuted?
In the movies the perfect action would be for her boyfriend to confront him and then beat him to a pulp in front of her, but in the real world life can sometimes be unfair.
Is her ex agressive and intimidating/violent?
If he is, her boyfriend probably is scared and will feel he let her down!
If this is the case,in hindsight he should have confronted him and if the ex beat him he could have either had him prosecuted or better still waited for him one night and beat the crap out of him with a pick-axe handle!!!
My heart goes out to to your cousin and i hope she can get help and loving support to overcome the vile act that happened to her. L

I think if the new boyfriend isn't a police officer then he did the right thing.Never take the law into your own hands. The boyfriend could end up in jail while the rapist run free to try her again.

I think he was afraid.. Maybe the new boyfriend didn't want to start trouble. :) Personally, I wouldn't walk away from a conversation between the two (if one occurred), but I wouldn't leave him to talk to her alone. I'd make my presence known. I hope this helps!
