History is often a story written to the liking of successful predators that adds a final insult to the mortal injuries suffered by sacrificed prey.

if you really believe he is that great, give a valid comparison and reasons...Many in the last half of the 20th century weren't much to talk about. Wilson, a good, intelligent man, Roosevelt during the war, nearly all up to 1840...I won't speak of more modern ones.
But why do you say this, is the condition of America so good that you would give him top billing....I say this without prejudice.
There are a lot of things that I find distressing in Bush...little interest in the environment, the war is not going well politically for him, he has bruised the Constitution by interpreting it his way (it will be a few years for the courts to decide if he was doing right by the Constitution). He doesn't seem to desire that America be formed by the majority or centrists. I suppose you are right leaning and think that middle America is Liberal? Give some reasons, some will listen. But in the face of the issues of today, your adoration seems simplistic.

I like President Bush a lot, but not one of the greatest. Unfortuantly he has given into the libs. He was very strong and stood up for us. If he would have continued to be strong, then I would say yes. We will see 20 to 30 years from now. He is in the top ten.

For a while after 9/11 I would have said yes. But now, he has compromised too much, not stood up enough against the hard left. Considering the enormity of the events occurring during his presidency, he has done better than most could have.

Of course not... I wonder now if I am in the same plane of reality that I was born in.
Man, I wonder if I could take office in some country, screw their economy, screw their military, screw their constitution, kill hundreds of thousands and spred anarchy in the name of freedom, violate UN rulings and war-crimes laws, torture people and hold them without trial, let my nation be attacked by terrorists, and still be reffered to by some as the greatest president of all time?

Only if you give out points for killing Iraqi civilians and selling our country to Halliburton, China and Saudi Arabia. He wins then!! Aren't you proud?? :)
I do think he's good at acting like a cowboy, just like Reagan was, though.
