"i wrote a song about it, like to hear it here it go"

I heard it in the begining of an En-vogue song (free your mind) and I also heard it while watching an old re-run episode of In Living Color.... anybody have any idea???

Due the mass-spread development of ipods, cell-phones and the internet, there is no exact source which this quote can be traced to. There are many different songs that use this quote. In one of them, there was like an f-word in every sentence but in one part it said: "I wrote a song about, like to hear it here it go".

This is a situation similar to not being able to credit whoever invented the wheel. Because there are so many that have been copied, there is no person that has declared the quote his or hers.

It's from Cheech and Chong. The character's name was Blind Melon Chitlin. I'm serious...

Everything since then is riffing on it.
