I'm a writer, and I happen to be gathering ideas for some short stories I intend to write. I'm also very curious as to what the public likes to read. I want to know what you think I should write a story about. What kind of story would you like to read? Any ideas out there?

What about a story on how a writer could not think of a plot then she advertizes and gets one from a supernatural being(whoever) who subtly suggests a plot about a story of a girl who is torn between two men. When the writer starts writing, what she writes becomes reality...and so the story revolves around the "story", if you know what i mean.

I like insight stories. Those are usually what I write, because when I took a writing class, the instructor explained that those are the most likely to interest a reader. Take a character through 30 different scenes, develop them, and then use your favorites to create a short story. For ex. I did one on a guy who didn't like game shows. One scene I have him watching wheel of fortune, whining about something. Then I show him at work with his friends being invited to play poker and turning them down. Soon enough we get to see that my character doesn't enjoy competition. It made for a funny story, and I got pretty decent reviews. Good luck, and personally I'd like to read a story about someone who goes to a parallel world where things are almost right, but 2 or 3 things are different (people don't shower, cars drive themselves, all suits in a deck of cards are red) which gives your character a chance to develop.

I honestly have to say, write about what you are passionate about. Whether it is something like discovering new worlds or falling desperately in love with someone, you won't truly know what your story is until it is written down. Take this from someone who writes a lot, and has finally decided what she enjoys writing about. Most importantly, have some fun, because if you make it something that you hate, it will come through your writing. That's pretty much all of the advice I can give you right now, but if you have anything you want to talk about, feel free to contact me. avariluvatar@yahoo.com

Well, for my most recent tale, I used to be motivated by means of television. Normally television conjures up me in any case. But this one is extraordinary. I used to be looking Terra Nova on Tv, and despite the fact that it wasn't that excellent of a exhibit, I nonetheless noticed the knowledge in it. And then I made up our minds that writing a singular with dinosaurs could be so cool, and whatever so not like some thing I've ever performed earlier than. So then I introduced into all this making plans with these kind of extraordinary characters, and it used to be going to take situation within the jungle with dinosaurs. Then I persisted the making plans system and rewrote outlines. Then I began, and wrote a horrible opening I ended up scrapping. And now I've bought the inspiration down. And the humorous factor is, dinosaurs are not even a side of it anymore. So the article that particularly motivated this novel, does not even exist within the novel anymore. It does nonetheless, nonetheless, take situation within the jungle, however the inspiration is virtually wholly extraordinary from the normal motivated inspiration.

I think you should aim for the teenage crowd. I'm 15 and I love to read stories (and also write them, I want to be an author someday) about teenage dramas like boy problems and friend problems. Like a high school thing, if you will.

If you write fiction, write about something realistic, not far fetched.
