...ok, so you threw me off at the dog dish part. Well, I pierced my own nose before and it's NOT easy. The cartilage there is MUCH thicker. Ice it up nice, sterlize, and make a dot and push HARD! That's what I did, and I still can't believe I went through with it 2 years ago! Ha ha.

OH! And Put he ice cube into your nose and push into that on the other side. Yeesh, you don't want to pierce through to the other side of your other nostril, that would be HORRIBLE, and you'd look like a punk, and nobody likes a PUNK! :-P

Doesnt seem like it would be that hard but the only thing I would be concerned about is that you might pierce it crooked, the ring will look weird and you wont be happy about it, also you cant do it too high theres like only a small area where you can pierce or you'll end up hurting yourself. It doesnt hurt if you do it fast enough, why dont you want to go to a pro?

NOOOO!! I had mine pierced and was told it is one of the most painful piercings...you should not do that yourself. And mine DID go through to the other side on accident...OUCH! It's hard enough for a pro to do it right...don't take the chance. It's really cute and all, but there's no reason not to see a professional.

Hmm... sounds like you have the experience. You should be okay as long as you follow sterilization procedures, don't stick anything into your eyes, etc. My cousin's friend did it herself and she was fine but she developed an infection like 3 months after her piercing b/c she stopped using the antibacterial solution she was supposed to use everyday, 3x a day.

its up to you but if you do chose to do it Ur self you should go and at least get it checked out or buy an antiseptic spray

also if u have never done it b4 go and see them do it to some 1 Else or watch one of you friends getting it done buy a professional FIRST because i have heard if you hit the wrong spot you could damage your nerve and u could even lose some nerve in Ur nose!!

I just got mine done by a professional, I don't see how someone could do it themselves. It was rather painful! I think it would be alot harder to pierce a nose yourself than your ears,It's more complicated. But If you do it yourself, clean it with dial soap 2x a day. Good luck.

First of all I wouldnt encourage it.
Second always ask a general surgeon to do it using sterile techniques and under local anaesthesia

OK, don't do it. its different when it's you ear, there isn't anything on the other side of your lobe but air. if you go too far through your nose, and you penetrate through the other side of your nose(like in towards you face) you may damage something inside your nasal cavity

my sister did her own... she was ok... and my husband did his own eyebrow in high school. I did my own labret... Its really up to you.. jsut be sure if you are going to do it you use the correct gague needle.. and sterilize every single surface you could come into contact with in the process.. use latex gloves.. and take really good care of it afterwords
