In most states you have to be 15 to get a work permit, so, hang in there. At 14 however your life isn't over. You may want to consider working for yourself either selling products or providing services that you can do that others (a) don't want to do; (b) cannot physically do; (c) don't have the equipment to do; or (d) don't have the knowledge to do. You can make money alot of ways but the best is to get your parents on board with you in setting up a family business. They will get great tax benefits from a business even if its not a million dollar operation. What I would suggest is that you click into the website below and see if there's a Junior Achievement meeting near you. Just check it out and see what you think. Obviously it's working because there are young people around the US with success stories. How I hope you will be one of them. Check you library for one or several of the books written specifically about your question... "Fast Cash for Kids" by Bonnie & Noel Drew is one of many that comes to mind. You'll get alot of ideas on how to make money, more money than you would make working for someone else. Do something TODAY to get your future changed...
