Hey guys, on Thursday, I had a great interview with a staffing industry and I want to send a thank you letter to show my appreciation. Can I send an email saying thank you? Is that considered professional??

When you say "staffing industry" are you talking about a temp/perm employment agency? It's not appropriate to send thank yous to a temp/perm employment agency as when you apply most times they send applicants in order of when they applied, so a thank you accomplishes nothing.

When a person writes a "thank you" in business it's for the purpose of accomplishing something.

It's only appropriate to send a thank you to a person who interviews you for a company/business that you applied to on your own for a specific job. And the purpose of the thank you is to remind them you would like to have the job, and you thank them for interviewing you, and it's also for the purpose of them keeping you in mind when they have a card in front of them (it's kind of a marketing ad).

One NEVER emails a thank you of any kind.

No, that is not good !! You want to be remembered that is the purpose of what you are about to do. You want to create a good lasting impression. What is email? There is no personal touch. Be more sentimental. Buy a nice card from Hallmark. Put on your best handwritting, make sure it is clear whatever you are expressing. You take my advice, you are going to thank me later.
Email? My GOD !

Don't send an e-mail, send an actual thank you card. It shows professionalism, a genuine interest in the job and that you're not one to cut corners...GOOD LUCK! :-)

YES! In fact it might even be necessary to remind them that you are still out there. It also gives them the impression that you want the job so much that you are checking up on it. Look up how to write a proffesional response. Good luck and I hope you get it!

Yes, it is professional. Keep it brief and simple. Use their reference if you were given one. You could also finish with 'Regards' rather than 'Yours Sincerely'. Good luck!
